This is a CLASSIC Simpsons episode, where Mr. Burns obtains Santa's Little Helper (who has run away) and trains him to become one of his attack dogs - "Release the hounds!"

And this is an amazing group of art. It consists of several cel layers, all of which appear to have come from different moments in the same scene. AND it even includes the cels that make up the background which is INCREDIBLY rare. Note: the background cels may not have been used in the final cut or may have been used as close-up cels because they are not exact, but this is still a rare and amazing setup. We've shown several screen captures of the scene above so you can get examples of when these were used. We purchased this from an animator over a decade ago as part of a thousand-plus-piece lot of Simpsons art.  

The cels each measure approx. 10.5" x 12.5". NOTE: there is a piece of paper stuck to the bottom layer (the gray layer) but it also feels like it might be possible to remove it. The cels are also stuck together, but like the paper, don't feel strongly attached.  The setup is comprised of 4 cels - 1 of Santa's Helper, 1 of Mr. Burns and 2 of the background (with a paper sheet on the back).

MATTING: we've shown the cel setup with one of our standard, acid-free 11" x 14" mats and we're happy do mount it permanently in that mat for free, but it does cover/hide some of the cel setup. Our recommendation is that you mat it yourself, once you receive it, in a larger aperture mat in order to show off the art. PLEASE let us know immediately upon purchase which you'd prefer (our mat or no mat).
